Does the New Testament teach that the Old Testament Law has been done away with?

Jesus said He did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). Paul likewise taught that we do not nullify the Law by our faith but instead we uphold it (Romans 3:31). Jesus said the Law represents the essence of His teaching (Matthew 7:12), and that it can be summed up as wholeheartedly following God and loving your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-40). James taught likewise (James 2:8), as did Paul (Galatians 5:14; Romans 13:8-10).
